Etymology: Gr. n. actis actinos, ray; L. n. aurum, gold, the colour of gold; N.L. fem. n. spora, (from Gr. n. spora, seed) a spore; N.L. fem. n. Actinaurispora, ray (fungus) producing orange spores.

Etymology: N.L. fem. adj. siamensis, of or pertaining to Siam, the old name for Thailand, the country of origin of the soil from which the type strain was isolated.
