Type genus: ¤ Actinopolyspora Gochnauer et al. 1975 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Actinopolyspora, type genus of the family; suff. -aceae ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Actinopolysporaceae, the Actinopolyspora family.
