Allisonella Garner et al. 2003, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Allisonella histaminiformans Garner et al. 2003.
Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Allisonella, named after the American microbiologist Milton J. Allison, a prominent rumen microbiologist who isolated Oxalobacter formigenes, a ruminal bacterium that decarboxylates oxalate.
