Beutenbergia Groth et al. 1999, gen. nov. (Type genus of the family ¤ Beutenbergiaceae Zhi et al. 2009).
Type species: ¤ Beutenbergia cavernae Groth et al. 1999.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Beutenbergia, referring to Beutenberg, the geographical location of the institute in which the soil sample was studied.
