Type genus: ¤ Brucella Meyer and Shaw 1920 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Brucella, type genus of the family; suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Brucellaceae, the Brucella family.
