Type species: ¤ Acidocella facilis (Wichlacz et al. 1986) Kishimoto et al. 1996.
Etymology: N.L. n. acidum (from L. adj. acidus, sour), an acid; L. fem. n. cella, a store-room, a chamber and, in biology, a cell; N.L. fem. n. Acidocella, acid (-requiring) cell.

Etymology: N.L. n. aluminium (from L. n. alumen, alum), aluminium; L. part. adj. durans, enduring, being insensible; N.L. part. adj. aluminiidurans, aluminium-tolerant.

Etymology: N.L. n. aminum, amine; N.L. fem. adj. lytica (from Gr. fem. adj. lutikê), able to loose, able to dissolve; N.L. fem. adj. aminolytica, amine dissolving.
