Type genus: ¤ Aeromonas Stanier 1943 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Aeromonas, type genus of the family; suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Aeromonadaceae, the Aeromonas family.
