Type species: ¤ Aestuariimicrobium kwangyangense Jung et al. 2007.
Etymology: L. n. aestuarium, part of the sea coast which, during the flood-tide, is overflowed, but at ebb-tide is left covered with mud or slime, a tidal flat; N.L. neut. n. microbium, microbe; N.L. neut. n. Aestuariimicrobium, a microbe isolated from tidal flat.
