Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Beutenbergia, type genus of the family; suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Beutenbergiaceae, the Beutenbergia family.

Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Beutenbergia, referring to Beutenberg, the geographical location of the institute in which the soil sample was studied.
