Etymology: Gr. n. blastos, bud shoot; Gr. adj. chlôros, green; N.L. fem. n. Blastochloris, green bud shoot.

Blastochloris gulmargensis Venkata Ramana et al. 2011, sp. nov.
Type strain (see also StrainInfo.net): strain JA248 = DSM 19786 = JCM 14795.

Etymology: N.L. fem. adj. gulmargensis, of or pertaining to Gulmarg, a hilly resort in Kashmir, India, from where the type strain was isolated.
