Budvicia aquatica Bouvet et al. 1985, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus Budvicia Bouvet et al. 1985.).
Type strain (see also StrainInfo.net): strain Eb 13/82 = 20186 = 20186HG01 = ATCC 35567 = CIP 103240 = CNCTC 20186 = CNCTC 350 = DSM 5075 = LMG 8813.
GenBank/EMBL/DDBJ accession number for the 16S rRNA gene sequence of the type strain: AJ233407.
Etymology: L. fem. adj. aquatica, living in water; named to show the aquatic habitat of the organism, since all but one of the original strains were isolated from water.
Reference: BOUVET (O.M.M.), GRIMONT (P.A.D.), RICHARD (C.), ALDOVA (E.), HAUSNER (O.) and GABRHELOVA (M.): Budvicia aquatica gen. nov., sp. nov.: a hydrogen sulfide-producing member of the Enterobacteriaceae. Int. J. Syst. Bacteriol., 1985, 35, 60-64.

Note: In the paper by Bouvet et al. 1985, the type strain ATCC 35567 is erroneously cited as ATCC 25567.
