Etymology: Gr. adj. chruseos, golden; N.L. neut. n. microbium (from Gr. adj. mikros, small and Gr. n. bios, life), microbe; N.L. neut. n. Chryseomicrobium, yellow microbe.

Etymology: N.L. neut. adj. imtechense, pertaining to the Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH), where the type strain was characterized.
