Type genus: ¤ Coxiella (Philip 1943) Philip 1948 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Coxiella, type genus of the family; suff. -aceae, ending to denote family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Coxiellaceae, the Coxiella family.
