Type genus: ¤ Eubacterium Prévot 1938 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: N.L. neut. n. Eubacterium, type genus of the suborder; suff. -ineae, ending to denote a suborder; N.L. fem. pl. n. Eubacteriineae, the Eubacterium suborder.
