Type species: ¤ Frigoribacterium faeni Kämpfer et al. 2000.
Etymology: L. n. frigor -oris, frost, cold; L. neut. n. bacterium, small rod; N.L. neut. n. Frigoribacterium, a small rod growing in the cold.
