Type species: ¤ Hamadaea tsunoensis (Asano et al. 1989) Ara et al. 2008.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Hamadaea, named after Masa Hamada, the Japanese microbiologist who made a tremendous contribution to actinomycete research.
