Type species: ¤ Mesoflavibacter zeaxanthinifaciens Asker et al. 2008.
Etymology: Gr. adj. mesos, middle; L. adj. flavus, yellow; N.L. masc. n. bacter, rod; N.L. masc. n. Mesoflavibacter, a yellow, rod-like bacterium with middle temperature growth.
