Type species: ¤ Oribacterium sinus Carlier et al. 2004.
Etymology: L. neut. n. os oris, the mouth; L. neut. n. bacterium, a small rod; N.L. neut. n. Oribacterium, small rod from the mouth.

Oribacterium sinus Carlier et al. 2004, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus).
