Etymology: Gr. prep. para, beside; N.L. masc. n. Alcaligenes, a bacterial genus name; N.L. masc. n. Paralcaligenes, beside Alcaligenes.

Etymology: N.L. n. urea -ae, urea; N.L. masc. adj. lyticus (from Gr. masc. adj. lutikos), able to loose, able to dissolve; N.L. masc. adj. ureilyticus, urea-dissolving.
