Type species: ¤ Persicobacter diffluens (Reichenbach 1989) Nakagawa et al. 1997.
Etymology: Gr. n. persikos or persikon, peach; N.L. masc. n. bacter, rod; N.L. masc. n. Persicobacter, peach rod, because the organism is a peach-colored rod.
