Phycicoccus Lee 2006, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Phycicoccus jejuensis Lee 2006.
Etymology: L. n. phycos (from Gr. n. phukos), seaweed; N.L. masc. n. coccus (from Gr. n. kokkos) a grain or berry; N.L. masc. n. Phycicoccus, coccus from seaweed.

Note: Another new genus and new species have been described in the ¤ Intrasporangiaceae (¤ Kribbia and ¤ Kribbia dieselivorans), with the same diagnostic diamino acid, after the paper by Lee 2006 was accepted for publication (see JUNG (S.Y.), KIM (H.S.), SONG (J.J.), LEE (S.G.), OH (T.K.) and YOON (J.H.): Kribbia dieselivorans gen. nov., sp. nov., a novel member of the family Intrasporangiaceae.
