Note: Brune et al. 2002 propose to transfer ¤ Propionibacter pelophilus Meijer et al. 1999 (the type species of the genus Propionibacter) to the genus ¤ Propionivibrio as ¤ Propionivibrio pelophilus (Meijer et al. 1999) Brune et al. 2002, comb. nov. According to Rule 37a, bacteriologists adhering to this proposal must change the name Propionibacter to ¤ Propionivibrio.
