Type species: ¤ Psychrilyobacter atlanticus Zhao et al. 2009.
Etymology: Gr. adj. psuchros, cold; N.L. masc. n. Ilyobacter, a bacterial genus name; N.L. masc. n. Psychrilyobacter, a psychrotrophic bacterium related to the genus Ilyobacter.
