Type genus: ¤ Sneathiella Jordan et al. 2007.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Sneathiella, type genus of the family; L. suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Sneathiellaceae, the Sneathiella family.
