Type species: ¤ Sporolituus thermophilus Ogg and Patel 2009.
Etymology: Gr. fem. n. spora, a seed and, in biology, a spore; L. masc. n. lituus, a curved rod, crook; N.L. masc. n. Sporolituus, a spore-forming, curved rod.
