Type species: ¤ Succinispira mobilis Janssen and O'Farrell 1999.
Etymology: N.L. n. acidum succinicum, succinic acid; L. fem. spira, a coil; N.L. fem. n. Succinispira, succinate (utilizing) spiral (shaped bacterium).
