Thermoleophilum Zarilla and Perry 1986, gen. nov. (Type genus of the order ¤ Thermoleophilales Reddy and Garcia-Pichel 2009; type genus of the family ¤ Thermoleophilaceae Stackebrandt 2005).
Type species: ¤ Thermoleophilum album Zarilla and Perry 1986.
Etymology: Gr. n. thermê, heat; L. n. oleum, oil; N.L. neut. adj. philum (from Gr. neut. adj. philon), friend, loving; N.L. neut. n. Thermoleophilum, heat- and oil-loving microbe.
