Thermosulfidibacter takaii Nunoura et al. 2008, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus).
Type strain (see also StrainInfo.net): strain ABI70S6 = DSM 17441 = JCM 13301.
GenBank/EMBL/DDBJ accession number for the 16S rRNA gene sequence of the type strain: AB282756.
Etymology: N.L. gen. n. takaii, of Takai, named after Dr Ken Takai, a microbiologist who has devoted himself to the study of terrestrial and deep-sea hydrothermal microbial ecosystems and chemolithoautotrophs present in those environments.
