Type genus: ¤ Truepera da Costa, Rainey and Albuquerque 2005.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Truepera, the type genus of the family; suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Trueperaceae, the Truepera family.
