Type species: ¤ Uliginosibacterium gangwonense Weon et al. 2008.
Etymology: L. adj. uliginosus, wet, moist, marshy; L. neut. n. bacterium, a rod; N.L. neut. n. Uliginosibacterium, a rod isolated from peat.
