Type species: ¤ Wenxinia marina Ying et al. 2007.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Wenxinia, named after Professor Wen-Xin Chen, one of the academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a pioneer of soil microbiology in China.
