Type species: ¤ Zeaxanthinibacter enoshimensis Asker et al. 2007.
Etymology: N.L. neut. n. zeaxanthinum, zeaxanthin; N.L. masc. n. bacter, rod; N.L. masc. n. Zeaxanthinibacter, zeaxanthin-producing rod-like bacterium.
