Type genus: ¤ Caldisphaera Itoh et al. 2003.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Caldisphaera, the type genus of the family; suff. -aceae, ending denoting a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Caldisphaeraceae, the family of Caldisphaera.
