Type species: ¤ Calditerrivibrio nitroreducens Iino et al. 2008.
Etymology: L. adj. caldus, hot; L. fem. n. terra, the earth; N.L. masc. n. vibrio, a vibrio; N.L. masc. n. Calditerrivibrio, a vibrio existing in a hot terrestrial environment.
