Type species: ¤ Catenovulum agarivorans Yan et al. 2011.
Etymology: L. n. catena, chain; N.L. dim. neut. n. ovulum (from L. n. ovum, an egg), a small egg; N.L. dim. neut. n. Catenovulum, chain egg.
