Warning: In the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature, an arrow (--->) only indicates the sequence of valid publication of names and does not mean that the last name in the sequence must be used (see: Introduction).
Number of species cited in this file: 2
Classification (Warning: see also the file "Classification of prokaryotes: Introduction").
Chryseomonas Holmes et al. 1986, gen. nov.
---> Chryseomonas Holmes et al. 1986 emend. Holmes et al. 1987.
Note: ¤ Chryseomonas polytricha Holmes et al. 1986 is a later heterotypic synonym of ¤ Pseudomonas luteola (Kodama et al. 1985) Holmes et al. 1987. ---> ¤ Pseudomonas Migula 1894 (Approved Lists 1980).
Note: The 16S rRNA sequence analysis of Chryseomonas polytricha Holmes et al. 1986 (the type species of the genus Chryseomonas Holmes et al. 1986 emend. Holmes et al. 1987) suggests that Chryseomonas Holmes et al. 1986 emend. Holmes et al. 1987 is a later heterotypic synonym of ¤ Pseudomonas Migula 1894 (Approved Lists 1980).
Chryseomonas luteola (Kodama et al. 1985) Holmes et al. 1987, comb. nov.
Note: Chryseomonas luteola (Kodama et al. 1985) Holmes et al. 1987 is an earlier heterotypic synonym of ¤ Chryseomonas polytricha Holmes et al. 1986. ---> ¤ Pseudomonas luteola Kodama et al. 1985.
Note: The level of similarity between the 16S rRNA sequence of the strain KS0921 = G.L. Gilardi 4239 = IAM 13000 = JCM 3352 (the type strain of the species Chryseomonas luteola (Kodama et al. 1985) Holmes et al. 1987) and the 16S rRNA of the strain DSM 50071 = ATCC 10145 (the type strain of the species ¤ Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Schroeter 1872) Migula 1900 (Approved Lists 1980) is 94.0%. This result suggests that Chryseomonas Holmes et al. 1986 emend. Holmes et al. 1987 is a later synonym of ¤ Pseudomonas Migula 1894 (Approved Lists 1980), and that the name ¤ Pseudomonas luteola should be used for this species.
Chryseomonas polytricha Holmes et al. 1986, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus).
---> ¤ Chryseomonas luteola (Kodama et al. 1985) Holmes et al. 1987, comb. nov. Note: Chryseomonas polytricha Holmes et al. 1986 is a later heterotypic synonym of Pseudomonas luteola (Kodama et al. 1985) Holmes et al. 1987. 1987 is a later synonym of ¤ Pseudomonas Migula 1894 (Approved Lists 1980) and that the name ¤ Pseudomonas luteola should be used for this species.
