Type species: ¤ Echinicola pacifica Nedashkovskaya et al. 2006.
Etymology: L. masc. n. echinus, sea urchin; L. suff. -cola (derived from L. masc. or fem. n. incola), a dweller; N.L. fem. n. Echinicola, a sea-urchin dweller.
