Enhydrobacter aerosaccus Staley et al. 1987, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus).
Type strain (see also StrainInfo.net): strain ATCC 27094 = LMG 21877.
GenBank/EMBL/DDBJ accession number for the 16S rRNA gene sequence of the type strain: AJ550856.
Etymology: Gr. n. aer aeros, air; Gr. n. sakkos, sack, bag; N.L. n. aerosaccus, bag filled with air, gas vacuolate.
