Type species: ¤ Enhydrobacter aerosaccus Staley et al. 1987.
Etymology: Gr. adj. enudros (Latin transliteration enhydros) living in or by water, aquatic N.L. masc. n. bacter, a rod; N.L. masc. n. Enhydrobacter, aquatic rod.
