Type species: ¤ Enhygromyxa salina Iizuka et al. 2003.
Etymology: Gr. adj. enugros, in the water, aquatic; Gr. fem. n. muxa, mucus, slime; N.L. fem. n. Enhygromyxa, slime of wet or moist habitat; intended to mean aquatic myxobacteria.
