Type species: ¤ Fervidicoccus fontis Perevalova et al. 2010.
Etymology: L. adj. fervidus, hot; N.L. masc. n. coccus (from Gr. masc. n. kokkos), a grain or berry; N.L. masc. n. Fervidicoccus, coccus which grows at high temperatures.
