Lachnobacterium Whitford et al. 2001, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Lachnobacterium bovis Whitford et al. 2001.
Etymology: Gr. n. lachnos, wool; L. neut. n. bacterium, a small rod; N.L. neut. n. Lachnobacterium, woolly rod, after its colonial morphology on agar.
Reference: WHITFORD (M.F.), YANKE (L.J.), FORSTER (R.J.) and TEATHER (R.M.): Lachnobacterium bovis gen. nov., sp. nov., a novel bacterium isolated from the rumen and faeces of cattle. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol. 2001, 51, 1977-1981.
