Type species: ¤ Lutimaribacter saemankumensis Yoon et al. 2009.
Etymology: L. n. lutum, mud; L. n. mare, the sea; N.L. masc. n. bacter, a rod; N.L. masc. n. Lutimaribacter, rod from sea mud.
Reference: YOON (J.H.), KANG (S.J.), LEE (J.S.) and OH (T.K.): Lutimaribacter saemankumensis gen. nov., sp. nov., isolated from a tidal flat of the Yellow Sea. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2009, 59, 48-52.

Lutimaribacter saemankumensis Yoon et al. 2009, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus).
Type strain (see also StrainInfo.net): strain SMK-117 = CCUG 55760 = KCTC 22244.
GenBank/EMBL/DDBJ accession number for the 16S rRNA gene sequence of the type strain: EU336981.
Etymology: N.L. masc. adj. saemankumensis, from Saemankum, the location on the Yellow Sea in Korea where the type strain was isolated.
