Notes:
1 The name ¤ Microsphaera Yoshimi et al. 1996 is illegitimate because of precedence of the fungal genus Microsphaera (Wallr.) Léveillé 1851 [Principle 2, Rule 51b(4)]. Consequently, a new genus designation Nakamurella has been proposed by Tao et al. 2004.
2 In the etymology of the genus Nakamurella, provided by Tao et al. 2004, the first name of Prof. Nakamura is erroneously cited as Kazonuri.

Nakamurella multipartita (Yoshimi et al. 1996) Tao et al. 2004, comb. nov. (Type species of the genus).
Type strain (see also StrainInfo.net): strain Y-104 = ATCC 700099 = CIP 104796 = DSM 44233 = JCM 9543.
GenBank/EMBL/DDBJ accession number for the 16S rRNA gene sequence of the type strain: CP001737 (complete genome).
Illegitimate basonym: ¤ Microsphaera multipartita Yoshimi et al. 1996.
Etymology: L. adj. multus, much, great, many; L. fem. part. adj. partita (from L. v. partio partire, to divide, part, distribute) divided, parted, distributed; N.L. fem. part. adj. multipartita, micro-organisms having many divisions inside the cell.
