Type species: ¤ Oxalophagus oxalicus (Dehning and Schink 1990) Collins et al. 1994.
Etymology: Gr. n. oxalis, wood sorrel (from which the name of oxalic acid is derived); Gr. masc. n. phagos, glutton; N.L. masc. n. Oxalophagus, oxalate eater.
