Type genus: ¤ Pasteurella Trevisan 1887 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Pasteurella, type genus of the family; L. suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Pasteurellaceae, the Pasteurella family.
