Type species: ¤ Roseisalinus antarcticus Labrenz et al. 2005.

Etymology: L. adj. roseus, rose-coloured; L. adj. salinus, saline; N.L. masc. n. Roseisalinus, the rose-coloured bacterium depending on ions.
