Type species: ¤ Salirhabdus euzebyi Albuquerque et al. 2007.
Etymology: L. n. sal salis, salt; N.L. fem. n. rhabdus (from Gr. fem. n. rhabdos), a rod, wand; N.L. fem. n. Salirhabdus, a rod that grows in salt.
