Type species: ¤ Sciscionella marina Tian et al. 2009.
Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Sciscionella, arbitrary name formed from the acronym of the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, SCISCIO, where taxonomic studies on this taxon were performed.
