Sinococcus Li et al. 2006, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Sinococcus qinghaiensis Li et al. 2006.
Etymology: M.L. n. Sina, China; N.L. masc. n. coccus (from Gr. n. kokkos), a grain or berry; N.L. masc. n. Sinococcus, coccus-shaped microbe isolated from places in China.

---> ¤ Sinobaca Li et al. 2008, gen. nov.

Note: The name Sinococcus Li et al. 2006 is illegitimate because it is a later homonym of Sinococcus Wu & Zheng, 2000 (Insecta: Hemiptera: Sternorrhyncha: Coccoidea: Pseudococcidae). See Principle 2. Consequently, a new genus designation ¤ Sinobaca Li et al. 2008 has been proposed by Li et al. 2008.

Sinococcus qinghaiensis Li et al. 2006, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus).
Type strain (see also StrainInfo.net): strain YIM 70212 = DSM 17008 = KCTC 3943.
GenBank/EMBL/DDBJ accession number for the 16S rRNA gene sequence of the type strain: DQ168584.
Etymology: N.L. masc. adj. qinghaiensis, pertaining to Qinghai, a province of north-west China.

---> ¤ Sinobaca qinghaiensis (Li et al. 2006) Li et al. 2008, comb. nov.

Note: The name Sinococcus qinghaiensis Li et al. 2006 is illegitimate because the genus name is illegitimate (see ¤ Sinococcus). Consequently, a new species designation ¤ Sinobaca qinghaiensis (Li et al. 2006) Li et al. 2008 has been proposed by Li et al. 2008.
