Etymology: M.L. n. sina, China; N.L. n. sporangium [from Gr. n. spora, a seed (and in biology a spore), and Gr. n. angeion (Latin transliteration angium), vessel], sporangium; N.L. neut. n. Sinosporangium, an organism isolated in China bearing sporangia.
